Che Guevara had asthma: which remedies he used to treat it,during guerrilla in the tropical jungles?

from what ive read he probably didnt have anything for his asthma in the jungle. i read one article about how the hands and feet of some guerrilla soldiers swelled and eventually became infected and sort of rotted off. i think che might have had whatever caused this but he got over it. also i thought ive read that che's asthma didnt effect him very bad cause i thought he played soccer as a boy.
